If you've been in business a while
or on the internet a lot, you've probably heard the term "keywords". So,
what are keywords anyway, and why should you give a hoot? First of
all, if you are a business owner or have a website of some kind, you
should most definitely give a hoot! Why? Simply put, keywords are the search
terms or phrases that people use when they are doing online research on
some kind of topic, or are searching for a product or service. Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other types of search engine
sites specialize in finding what you and others are looking for (search
results) when
typing "keywords" in. "Maui kid activities" Or maybe you're planning a
honeymoon. It doesn't really matter, because the principle is the same
with any potential search/research topic. Words are typed in, thus
becoming "keywords". If you own a website, blog, shop online
site, or would like to in the future, it's imperative that you know what
keywords your potential customers are using. Your information needs to
show up in their search results. Although this is really a more
complicated subject, hopefully you understand the basic meaning of
keywords now. We'll be covering more about this topic during the SEO
topic in our teleseminar series.
